Our year 8 leadership camp

WALT: write a recount
It’s that time of the year again, Year 8 camp. Every year, the year 8's would go on camp and this year, year 8’s went to Kauaeranga valley in Thames. We all piled into buses and went on with our trip.

While at camp we did a lot of activities my most challenging activity was railway jigger. I jumped on the jigger and started pumping my arm. It was harder than I thought, my arm started burning inside and I could feel the flax going past my face.

I could taste my dry mouth while I was pushing my jigger and I could feel my dry lips. Nearly every students struggled to push their jiggers around the corner, even the teachers.

Finally it had come to the end and everyone was tired and thirsty. When they all got off their jiggers, everyone fell to the ground and started moaning about how tired they were.

Last week, the year 8's went on camp and the year 7's had to stay at school. At camp, the year 8's had lots of fun and of course we had lots of leadership opportunities and the year 7's had lots of time to build each other up.

Simple sentences, Compound sentences and Complex sentences

This week we were learning about Complex sentences, Compound sentences and Simple sentences. This is my 9 sentence story I wrote. It has 3 compound, 3 complex and 3 simple sentences in it. I hope you enjoyed reading it.

There once was a girl called Daniella. She was the only child in her family and she was so spoiled. She lived with her parents. Lots of people called her a spoiled brat but  Daniella wasn’t a brat. She had lots of friends at school but some of them left because their families moved out of town,

Daniella had a tough time at school because some people would tease her. One day daniella was very sick and she had to stay home. While she was at home someone kept  phoning her and hanging up. Daniella got really angry so she threw her phone away.

Holidays have finally come to the end. On the first week, I went ice skating and it was lots fun. The next day, my friends and I went to Extreme at botany, we played lots of games like bowling, laser tag and much more.

I had lots of fun in the holidays with my friends and family. We did lots of fun things and I had a great performance too. I'm looking forward to learn new things this term and going to year 8 camp with my friends and teachers. I'm looking forward for the places that we're going this term. I'm looking forward for swimming too every Friday.

This term is going to be full of fun and excitement.

I hope you enjoyed reading my reflection of my holidays and what I'm looking forward to this term.
